Funny Olde Worlde cards

By Erica Sturla

Never caught without the right card for a history lover? This five-card pack keeps your Victorian stash covered – warm, witty, and totally unique, with a queen, a novelist, an engineer, a nurse and a naturalist ready for every birthday on your calendar.

Erica recreates beloved characters from history in meticulous detail from polymer clay. She photographs them, adds her humorous text, and they are printed onto fabulous 300gsm board. This pack – part of Erica’s celebrated historical range – includes: Queen Victoria in black gown and blue sash, glass in hand, telling you to “make a Great Exhibition of yourself!”; Charles Dickens in front of the Old Curiosity Shop, wishing you “a Dickens of a good time!”; Isambard Kingdom Brunel in his top hat with a candle-topped birthday cake, declaring that “the technical challenges of this engineering project were immense!”; Mary Seacole surrounded by her herbs and remedies, reminding you that “gin counts as a herbal remedy!”; and Charles Darwin, with a monkey, parrots, a chameleon, a penguin and a tortoise for company, noting “what a fine specimen you’ve evolved into!”

The ideal set to have on hand for every history-loving birthday on your calendar. Perfect for a friend, mum, dad, sister, brother, colleague, history teacher or anyone who has ever claimed they were born in the wrong century. We are amused, and we recommend a Great Exhibition of yourself.

Each card is printed on premium 300gsm board and measures 15cm square when folded, making it suitable for Royal Mail standard letter post. It has a gloss finish on the outside and is blank inside with a matt inner surface suitable for all pens. It comes with a colour-matched envelope and is wrapped in a Nativia film bag, derived from plant starches.

Holy Mackerel cards are designed and made right here in the UK. Add to your basket and give them a card worth keeping.
